COCKTAIL LOUNGE AND NIGHTCLUB OPENS ON THE RIVER WALK
Downtown’s newest venue celebrates its grand opening
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – There’s a new aura coming to the Riverwalk. Satisfy your senses and discover a new way to unlock the night at the grand opening of MERKABA on two nights; Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20, 7-9pm each night.
The public is invited to attend the two-night grand opening celebrations of San Antonio’s most-anticipated craft cocktail lounge. Grand opening includes free admission, half-priced drinks, and complementary passed appetizers. Reservations for the grand opening are made through Eventbrite https://merkabagrandopeningparty.eventbrite.com. After 9 pm, people without an invitation may enter.
MERKABA is where locals and visitors can tap into the region’s roots and experience an atmosphere like nothing before. Flavors inspired by ancient cultures of Southern Mexico and Central America, including honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and passionfruit will be paired with unique spirits to create artisanal cocktails like the Flower of Life Margarita, Temple’d Fashioned and the Find-Your-Mojo Mojito.
Senior General Manager Derek Langford says, “We are excited for the opportunity to add something new and original to San Antonio’s beloved Riverwalk. It’s our goal to provide an experience that not only speaks to the residents of San Antonio but displays the area’s cultural history in a one-of-a-kind way. We wish to build upon the mystique and allure of our great city’s nightlife through regionally-inspired cocktails and patio lounging.”
Textures and elements drawn from the Mayans adorn the venue’s Inverted Temple Bar, Grotto and Witch Doctor Lounges, two outdoor patio spaces beneath the lights, and two dance floors that wrap around the Inverted Temple Bar. With room for up to 240 guests, Merkaba promises to create intimate spaces for a transformative mood every night of the week.
A troupe of local DJ’s will perform on the venue’s state-of-the-art stage, covering a span of genres from Dance and Top-40 to Mumbatan and Tribal beats. Opening weekend DJ Bewser will be in the house. Bewser is an active duty member of the US Air Force whose signature open style format includes surprising the crowd via track mixing of everything from Hip Hop to Latin.
